I hope ya’ll like my new Home Page presentation and enjoyed the new intro video. My full presentation is now on the Video Page.
We had great weather for the Patriot Ride on June 30, and a great turnout for recognition to our fallen veterans and Gold Star families. Never Forget.
At the Patriot Ride Bike Show, I was proud and honored to receive Judges Choice with my new paint on the Fat Boy.
Then, July came on like a blast furnace. The Travelling Wall in Princeton MN held the familiar aura similar to The Wall in D.C. These Walls stand within a realm of their own, a spiritual realm/an emotional realm that takes courage and respect (unimaginable to me) for some to enter. The Algona Freedom Rally rocked under clear skies. Then, I had a blistering ride down to Grand Island, Nebraska (GI, NE) to join NVAR riders to fulfill our mission.
We had a make-up visit to the GI Veterans Home because a storm screwed up our scheduled stop in May. Each year, the guys at the Vets Home look forward to our visit as much as we do. In testament to that, riders from Oregon, Virginia, Florida, and many places in-between showed up for the afternoon visit. And of course, the party afterward. Then was a Poker Ride on Sat. to benefit Mike Manthey with a great mix of the NVAR and the Purple Fish MC. And of course, a party afterward. (Check out the brightness around Mongo, International Pres of the Purple Fish MC. It’s like an aura, or like he’s leading us into the light!!!!)
Don Jenkins, far left in photo of four, and I, have been selected to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery at the culmination of next year’s NVAR. What a great honor to share with Don on the most sacred ground in America, if not the free world.
The silhouette photo is at the Korean War Memorial in Columbus NE. Steel girders from the World Trade Center with an Eagle soaring at the top. Cool, huh!
At the peak of the heat, I guess, a cool front moved in and it kinda feels like fall, but I’ve high hopes for high temps in Aug. I have a few things, like the bike, to pack in the trailer and then I’m off to Sturgis. Yes, I trailer my bike to Sturgis—but I rode it across Vietnam!
Actually, I need to haul books, too, for my book signing at the Rapid City Black Hills HD July 31 – Aug 8.
And as long as I’ve have the trailer, and electricity at my camp site, I bring the tent canopy and a small refrigerator and the micro wave for homey comforts.
Hope to see you all there.
Ride safe & Never Forget
